Fiber orientation using the Moldex3D Extrusion module

Can we simulate SMC or GMT compression with Moldex3D? Yes, we can!
Specifying and evaluating the initial and resulting fibre orientations plays a decisive role in this process.  

The Moldex3D compression molding module is required as the basis to be able to simulate SMC or GMT compression. The geometry and positioning of the inserted material can influence the filling behavior. The initial fiber orientation, specified via material assignment, is also relevant for calculating fiber orientation. There are several possible geometries with different fiber orientations for the inserted material. The fiber orientation in the simulation is calculated using the same models as those used for injection molding. The usual results and tools are available for evaluation.
