Mesh
ESPECIALLY FOR OUR USERS
A mesh is a geometric model of a system consisting of finite, well-defined elements. The purpose of meshing is to simplify a system by creating a model that represents the system and its environment for numerical calculations or simulations. Moldex3D offers automatic and semi-automatic tools to assist users with this crucial step.
Moldex3D offers different meshing modes, such as BLM and eDesign. In eDesign mode, you can select a solid mesh from five levels of mesh density based on an .stl or .step file. The goal is to minimize the effort required for meshing with the "Easy and Fast Solid Mesh Generation".
__ Easy - "Automatic solid mesh generation based on the STL model"
__ Fast: "Intelligent solid mesh generation"
For a BLM mesh, a surface mesh must be generated based on an STP file. Many tools are available to help users generate surface and solid meshes.
__ "Node Distribution" defines the size of the surface mesh and refines areas.
__ "Parameters" allows you to set all parameters for 3D generation.
__ "Repair Mesh" provides tools for manually correcting errors in the surface mesh.
__ "Structural Mesh" helps users create precise, complex meshes based on hexa-element meshes.
BLM Advantage:
Captures:
__ Strong shear-thinning effects
__ Effects of viscous heating
Improves the accuracy of:
__ Result of viscous heating
__ Print result
Improves:
Prediction of shrinkage and warpage
With the different available tools, Moldex3D allows users to meet their specific needs and objectives. In short, users can perform quick and easy validations (eDesign), accurate and efficient simulations (BLM), and precise, detailed work with structural meshes (Molding Innovation+).
